What happens if I water down dye?

I had this question posed to me by a reader the other day, and thought it would be a great one to answer with a post.

What happens if you water down dye? Essentially it all goes back to our depth of shade, and how much yarn you are using.

To put it simply, if you have 100 grams of wool, and 1 gram of dye powder, that will always give you a 1% DOS, no matter if you have 1 gram of water or 10,000, as long as you let it exhaust completely and heat to the right temperature with acid.

Hope this cleared things up for any other readers who might have had questions!
